Technology
In the world of Teaching, articles about new ways to use technology in the classroom are everywhere. Every teaching blog, newsletter, magazine and seminar covers new uses of technology. Teachers are constantly told that you, students of the 21st century, use technology every day, are tech-saavy, and need to be taught WITH technology because that is how you learn best. We are also told that, in order to prepare you for the modern workforce, we need to teach you HOW to use new technology effectively.Respond to that idea. What do you think about it? Do you think that teachers could be more effective if they used technology tools (think podcasts, web videos, online discussion forums, electronic assignment submission, tech-related project assignments)? Are modern students technologically inclined? What about being a student in Utah? Do you think that being in Utah keeps you a little behind-the-times as far as technology learning is concerned? Would YOU do better if more multi-media was used in your classrooms to teach and present, and for you to demonstrate your learning and communicate?

Well i honestly think that technology is way harder for me to learn on. I need to see something visually and have someone to talk to about it in order to fully and completely understand something. I never remember to check my school fussion and I hate it anyways because my computer will not open the files on it. I also HATE A+ because there is no one there to explain anything to me so i dont get it and i do it wrong. I like being in a group too because then i can hear other people questions and learn from the answers the teachers give them.
Like i said before its really hard to remember stuff if its on the computer and i forget things alot! Plus with those of us who play sports, we can't do the homework thats on the computer on the way to games because we dont always have a computer. Computers fail and break down and dont always work. You will always be able to use a paper and penicil to do your homework.
I don't necissarily think that its always bad though. I mean if i had the time to get on the computer every day and if my computer never broke down then it would be nice to be able to get at least my homework online but i deffinitely do not wanna just learn lessons on the computer. If i had my own laptop though i think maybe my perspective on things might change. I just dont have very much patience with computers when it comes to homework and stuff because sometimes they are very slow or they freeze up. So I really dont think its a good idea to do alot of stuff online or even just on the computer.

NBTT- Teachers you get along with
Since we're reading Nothing But The Truth, which involves a boy who doesn't get along with a teacher, I want you to consider teacher-student relationships you've had in the past. Have you had teachers that you just got along with whether or not you did well in their class? Have you had teachers whose personality just didn't mesh with yours? Without naming names, expound upon these ideas and thoughtfully consider how personality differences or similarities have affected you in your classes.
I have had alot of teachers that i do not get along with! I swear none of my teachers like me at all! i think they all have something against me. They are nice to everyone else sometimes, just not me. I mean you would think they have to be nice to all their students but they are not!
I have this one teacher that no matter how close i am to getting a better grade in her class she wont let me do ANYTHING to make it up. I was like .3 away from getting a A- and she wouldn't do anything about it. I turned in everything in that class and i was so mad cause she still didnt let me do anything. She hates me! she always yells at me during class and always picks on me and it drives me insane!
So i think that some teachers just hate kids! I mean you would think that since their jobs revolve around kids they would at least like them a little bit! but NO!!! some teachers just need to maybe get a job that doesnt involve children. Maybe they could teach collage and make our lives a little less misarable!

Thinking about ever losing you.... is a total and complete nightmare. I don't think you will ever be able to fully understand the love i have for you. It's a love that runs deep through all my blood in a direct line to my heart. Just thinking about you makes me smile :-). Honesty
How important is honesty to you? Is it more important than kindness? Share a story of a time you or someone you know was not honest and it caused problems or was 'too honest' and it caused problems.
Honesty is very important to me. I think that it is more important in some ways to be honest then to be nice. I dont want people to lie to me just to make me feel good. I would want to know the truth even if it hurts.
One time i think it was last year one of my best friends lied to me and it ended up in a total disaster. I dont know if she just didn't want to hurt my feelings or if she didnt want to make me mad but when i found out from everyone else except her it made me feel both hurt, and angry. I think if she would have told me herself i would have still been mad but i would have probably understood more.
Being too honest can be bad to though. This one girl is very very blunt and it really sometimes can hurt my feelings. I know she just says stuff to help me most the time but sometimes i dont need her help or dont want it and it can make me really mad when she is always saying stuff that are true but still hurt my feelings. It's the End of the World As We Know It.
The world is ending. There are natural disasters happening everywhere. You know that soon you will be stranded in your house with only the food left in your cupboards. You make a mad dash to the grocery store but everyone there is in such chaos that you know you'll only have time to grab one item before escaping with your life. What item of food do you grab?Describe what the food is, how long you'll wait to eat it, what it will feel like to know you're eating it for the last time. Will you share with your family? Will you hide it away until there's nothing else left? Will you eat it a little at a time or gobble it all at once? Describe every aspect of enjoying this last savory morsel of food.
If it was the end of the world and i was at a grocrey store and i was only able to grab one item of food it would deffinatley have to be hot cheetos. Hot cheetos are kind of like my favorite snack ever. I would be smarter then most people though because i would run to the back of the store and go into the place were all the packages of stuff were and grab a huge box with tons of hot cheeto bags in it. I would also get hot cheetos because if its the end of the world, im obviously going to die anyways so i would want to have my favorite snack before i died.
I would eat it as soon as i could and since it was the last time eating it i would make sure that i just scarf it down so then i dont have to leave the world with out eating the whole thing. I will deffinitely share with my family because i cant live with out them they are my life! So i would make sure that they get all they wanted first before i scarffed my down.
I mean hot cheetos may just be cheetos covered red hot deliciousness but to me its more then that... its like my medicine of life. I thrive off of it. I mostly have them everyday so i would deffinitely pick hot cheetos. Thats all thank you very much :-) good bye.

Imagine that you have a superpower. The Power of Persuasion. You can convince anyone of anything. How would you use that power? What would you try to get, do, change? Would you use it for good? Or evil? Describe what the Power of Persuasion is.
The power of persuasion means being able to change someones mind and making them think your way. If I had the power of the persuasion I would deffinatley use it for good and evil :-). I dont know if having the power of persuasion would be a good thing though. I think that your parents tell you stuff for a reason because they are trying to protect you. So if you could convince them to let you do stuff everytime they said no, how would you know if what your doing is something that could hurt you in the long run.
Even though it could be a bad thing, i still think it would be nice to convince my basketball coaches not to make us condition as hard. Also I would convince the other team to lose and i would convince the refs to actually do good at reffing. I would tell the other team to let me make a basket and they would just move out of the way and let me!
When my parents say "NO" i would deffinatley make them change that "NO" to a "YES". Say that i was going to the mall and i asked for money, they would say "Yes my beautiful daughter of course i will give you money!". I think i would convince them to let me drive more often and go where ever i want when ever i want. I would probably convince them to get me like 70 gallons of bath and body lip gloss, and all the books i have ever wanted! So that is what i would do if i had the power of persausion!

Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn’t want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?
It has happened to me alot. I dont really think im going to tell you about the situations that have occured because well other people can read this. It is kind of hard when you do not want someone to find out something about you. I will explain why its hard and the way it can effect your attitude.
Well when i dont want someone to know something about me i act kind of different around them. I try to avoid subjects that could bring up the thing i dont want to know.
